2002 Here We Come!
Welcome. My name is Eoghan Sweeney. Eoghan SweeneySince July 1999, I have been writing about the Korean football scene, as well as occasionally about various other topics, when the need arises.
With the next World Cup opening in Seoul in the summer of 2002, the world's attention will be increasingly focussed on Korea and Japan. It is my intention to do my best to provide continued quality coverage of events here.

What's it all about?
This site aims to give an introduction to Korean football, as well as some idea of who I am and what I do.

Growing up following my hometown team, Sligo Rovers, made me realise you don't have to watch football at the highest levels to come to love the game.

The K-League provides plenty of entertainment, and you have the added bonus of being able to watch a lot of the players who will represent Korea in the 2002 World Cup

Take the time to delve through this site. You might be surprised at some of the things you'll find out about the Beautiful Game in the Land of the Morning Calm.

Who do I write for?
During the football season, I do match reports twice weekly, as well as occasional previews, features and interviews for The Korea Times, a Seoul-based English language daily.

I also provide regular coverage of Korean football for Sportalasia.com, Asia's top sports website.

Once a month, I write a Korean football roundup for Football Asia, the official publication of the Asian Football Confederation. I also do features and interviews for them when the occasion demands.

Within Korea, I write a weekly column for Hankyoreh, a Korean language daily, as well as two monthly columns in "Football Family," a monthly magazine produced by the Korean Football Association.
