Hiddink Pleased with
LG Cup Triumph.

Guus Hiddink pronounced himself "satisfied" with the national team's performance in Cairo, where Korea retained the LG Cup with a 2-1 win over Egypt.

"I thought we played well," he said. "I was pleased with the performances, especially by some of the younger players."

Singled out for praise was Seo Deok-kyu, who made his international debut in the tournament. "He did well," Hiddink said. "I was pleased with what he could do in his first opportunity with the team."

The Trophy Comes to Seoul.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy was unveiled to the media in Seoul on Friday, April 27 in a blaze of publicity. Designed by Silvio Gazzaniga, the current trophy was first awarded in 1974, when Germany won the title on home soil. The previous cup, the Jules Rimet Trophy, was awarded to Brazil in perpetuity after they won their third final in Mexico's Azteca Stadium in 1970.

The trophy stands 36 centimetres high and is made of solid 18-carat gold, weighing almost five kilograms.

It remains the property of FIFA, so unlike the Jules Rimet Trophy, it cannot be won outright by any team, but the winners get a replica to keep after they hand back the original.
